When a different setup makes more sense

Sometimes the better answer is not dual fuel at all. If the house is mostly heated by a boiler and the owner does not want to add ducts, a high-efficiency boiler upgrade or a different distribution fix makes more sense. If the home is very small or already zoned with ductless equipment, a mini-split system might be the cleaner solution.

And if the real issue is leaky ducts, weak returns, or bad insulation, fixing those basics first usually pays back faster than upgrading equipment. New gear cannot outwork a bad building shell forever. It just burns more money trying.

Dual fuel works best when the house, the ductwork, and the controls are all treated like one system instead of separate parts.
